Stillness, Peace, and Calm

We know we say it A LOT; however, we just love coaching. We both wake up excited every day that we get to come into our Yellow Room and spend time with YOU, our beloved clients.

Last week, we had one of our busiest weeks ever. It seems that the holidays were very stressful for many and the continued existence of coronavirus is taking a toll, especially emotionally. Some of you are struggling with relationship issues, some have had sick families and friends, and others are feeling the effects of isolation and fear.

Let’s Be Still

Personally, each day we start out with our yoga and meditation practice. The quiet movement and stillness bring a sense of peace and calm as we begin our day. When life gets a bit hectic or we experience disappointment in our day, this foundation of peace and serenity is something we easily return to by simply closing our eyes and going back to how we started our day.

Life can be chaotic and even seem out of control. However, in our Yellow Room, we are learning that we cannot solve chaos from within the chaos. Instead, we truly can step out of the chaos and get a clearer view of our lives by being still and looking within.

Stillness doesn’t have to be complicated. Start your morning by sitting quietly in stillness with your eyes closed for five minutes. No phones. No music. Just you in a tranquil corner by yourself. Don’t worry about your thoughts. Allow them to come without judgment.

As you become comfortable with five minutes, gradually increase your time until you are sitting quietly in stillness for 20 minutes to begin your day. This is your peaceful foundation for everything that happens during your day. If troubles come, there is already a place within you that knows stillness, peace, and calm.
