Practice Practicing Patience
In our ever-changing, fast-paced world, time and time again, we will meet people who do not know what we know, have not experienced what we have experienced, and are newcomers to what is for us already part of our knowledge base. At first, in this situation, it may be shocking that someone does not know what we know, especially when we have possessed this knowledge for a long time.
New Healthy Boundaries Workshop Starts Tuesday, September 14!
For six weeks, beginning Tuesday, September 14th, at 6PM, we will share with you everything we have learned in our search for boundaries. This course is very important to us because we have learned that healthy boundaries are ESSENTIAL for creating loving, authentic relationships.
Loving Ourselves When Things End
When you experience an ending, make sure to give yourself the support you need, which may include reaching out to a coach or counselor.
Consideration Matters
Luckily all my worries came to a screeching halt when my phone rang this morning. Here was our beloved hygienist, calling US to express HER gratitude and appreciation for our years together. We had a lovely conversation, and it was very satisfying to be able to share together, exchange contact information, and make plans to meet again away from the dental office.
Three Gems Before You Speak
So much hurt and pain is caused in our world, communities, and homes because people don’t think before they speak. So even though we may feel frustrated, disheartened, or angry, it is wise to take some time before we engage with others to calm down and respond instead of reacting.
The Importance of Rest
Last week, we took the week off. Well . . . not completely off. We worked two days instead of five – and it was wonderful. Ada completed a long-awaited painting project, and Annette caught up on some chores and reading. We both had time to rest as well.
July 2021 Vlog
This month we are continuing our It’s Okay If theme we started in our June Vlog. Here we discuss that it is definitely okay to need help.
I Finally Enjoy Creating Our Websites
This week, I want to invite you to visit our website - especially if you haven’t seen it in a while. We have made some changes and hopefully, you will find it easier to navigate. We have many courses included on our Courses page and soon we will be announcing which courses we will be offering later this summer and in the fall.
I Burned Our Orchid!
When I arrived home after work, our orchid’s beautiful green leaves were burned white, and many of them were wilted as well. I was heartsick – and I felt guilty for what I had done to such a lovely plant, which is more than a plant to me, actually.
Our Message Can Get Lost in Our Delivery
As coaches, we have not met anyone who did not have something valuable to share. Yet, we have met plenty of people whose sharing was done in such a way that it has been hard for others to hear and understand them.
Our June Vlog: It’s Okay If . . .
Our June vlog is up and ready to go. Whether it's coming from a parent, society, or ourselves, we all have our own ideas of what we should and shouldn't do or how life should or shouldn't be. However, some of our shoulds and shouldn'ts can get in the way of us fully expressing ourselves and creating meaningful relationships.
Facing Disappointment
While there are many benefits to authenticity and vulnerability, there undoubtedly comes a time when someone in our lives reacts to our authenticity and vulnerability in a way that is not kind, true, or necessary
Compassion
Springtime. The weather is warming up, we're spending more time outdoors, and many of us feel a sense of renewal. Along with all these beautiful aspects of spring, we must add activities such as outside cleanup, gardening, and planting flowers.
May Vlog
This month, we discuss a problem we see often: people forget to ask themselves before they speak, "Is what I'm about to say KIND, TRUE, and NECESSARY?" Our communication can make or break our relationships - including our relationship with ourselves. Because of this, rather than reacting to what someone says, we must take the time to go within and respond with intention.
Lessons From 38 Years of Marriage
Earlier this month, Don and I celebrated our 38th Wedding Anniversary. We had a nice long chat about all the usual thoughts people have on such an anniversary.
New COVID Guidelines
We are participants in Mesa County’s Five Star Variance Program. The requirements changed on Friday, April 16th, and we now have more flexibility in protecting ourselves and those of you who attend events in our Yellow Room for workshops and private sessions.
